Reimbursement: what you need to know

French state health insurance does not reimburse osteopathy consultations. That is a general rule, with no exception for the complaint or the patient’s age.

Private health schemes, however, almost all offer an annual complementary-medicine allowance, typically covering three to six sessions at €30 to €60 each. An invoice is provided after every consultation: it is the only document your claim requires.

Practical tip: check your policy’s annual ceiling before planning a course of treatment. Some schemes reimburse a global allowance, others per session: the difference completely changes the maths over three consultations.

The evening rate, and why it exists

The practice runs until 11:45pm on Tuesdays. Consultations starting after 8:45pm are charged at €90 instead of €70. It is the only supplement applied here.

That slot exists for patients whose working hours rule out any daytime appointment. If you can come during the day, take a standard slot: the evening offers no advantage other than the time.

Cancellation and punctuality

An appointment cancelled less than 24 hours ahead ties up a slot nobody else can take. Let me know as soon as you know: Doctolib cancels in two clicks and the slot goes straight back to another patient.

If you are late, the session still ends at the scheduled time so as not to push back the following appointments. Beyond fifteen minutes, the consultation usually has to be rescheduled.
